Trigger Brothers in Frankston now have their own little store within a store. Chris Boadle and Shane Carter (or captain cut and professor paint as they coined themselves) hit the tools and spent two days building a custom fit out, with a little help from ST at Triggers. Set up looks pretty rad.. stop in and check it out.

Tom Pelley Update

Tom Pelley has been back in the country for a little while now after a pretty busy season in the states. He’s slotted back in with the crew in the Burton Warehouse, scanning those boxes and practicing his no-complys – eagerly waiting for the season to start.

Tom spent a bunch of time in Colorado this season, based in Breckenridge with Transitional Snowboard Camp, with a few sessions at Keystone and the Copper Mountain foam pit. He also shot over to Tahoe to film with the Made You Look crew in Sonora Pass [June, 2010 through Transfer] and scored a spot on a trip to Treasure Mountain in Silverton, Colorado which looked insane [Keep an eye out for it in Aus NZ Snowboarding].

So another Northern Winter over for Tom – on to another Southern one now.

Tom Pelley Finds Treasure Mountain.

Tom Pelley and friends have just spent a couple days at Treasure Mounatin, a tiny little hut in the backcountry just outside of Silverton, Colorado. The place looks pretty awesome - a secluded little pad in the mountains, surrounded by endless fun terrain. Pelley scored it bluebird.

This might seem a little strange, but he tells us they have the highest Gondola in the world and some epic terrain. Plenty of guns too by the looks of it! Cowley At Mt Baker

Mt Hotham legend and main guy at the Freezer Mark Cowley, went and competed at the Legendary Mt Baker Banked Slalom, you can read all about it over at Transfer.

Mark rocked a T6 for the event and finished up a very respectable 4th in the Pro Masters. He sent us over a couple of photos of his time at the event.

6 Month Post OP Update

Hannah Trigger just gave us an update on how her ACL recovery is going.

"It's now been 6 months since my knee reconstruction. It's a milestone for me and I'm excited because it is only a few more months till I'm back to my good old self, running, jumping and having fun. My knee has been feeling pretty good lately but I still have to be real careful and work hard to rebuild the muscle and get it as strong as possible.

Riding the exercise bike becomes very tedious so lately I've been playing Mario Kart at the same time to keep it interesting."

CP's Time In Japan

Courtney Phillipson sent us a quick wrap up of her time in Japan.

"In between flights, I went to the Zoo in Ueno, Tokyo."

"Stu and I went to Moiwa resort most days, I rode the deepest powder that I have ever had the chance to ride, and it was amazing. I’ve never been much of a powder rider, but this trip has definitely changed my mind on that. My knee held up so much better than I expected, almost pain free."

"We got to catch up with our good friend Lee and his arch rival Liam, did some night riding and shot a couple photos down in Niseko Town. Until the police came, and Lee got chased off the road and almost run down by a car. So we decided to call it a day, and drove down to Sapporo for some drinks and to catch our flight out to the Breckenridge."

Austria To India

Mitch Allan just hit us with some photos and an update from his recent trip to Slovenia, which was guided by fellow Burton international rider and Slovenia local Marko Grilic.

"So back from Slovenia, that joint was pretty sick, some of the most shredable terrain I have ever seen.

I'm back in Austria now and at St Anton, we have had some pretty bad weather, but it has also snowed 2-3 feet, so not all bad...

The forecast is for another 3 feet over the next few days, so pretty much changed my plans and am going to hang here for another week because why wouldn't ya...

These shots are from Slovenia, couple of Absinthe and the rad art on the wall of the jail we stayed in. "

De Campo Is Back

Chris de Campo is back home, and trying to survive the two weeks at school he has to complete before he departs again for a week of riding and shooting in Japan.

The day before, he jumped on a plane to head home, he competed in the Gatorade Free Flow event at Keystone, Colorado. He managed to score himself a third place, check the clip of one of his runs.

CP's First Update

New member to the team Courtney Phillipson just hit us with her first SMM update, we got this in the inbox just before she jumped on a plane to start her travels.

"I haven’t been snowboarding in a year. Last year I blew my knee out, tore my ACL completely through and had tears in my medial and lateral menisci. After the knee reconstruction I woke up with this on my leg, the Legasaurus."

"I had to have Legasaurus on my leg for 8 hours a day for 2 weeks after the surgery. It gets your knee moving right away after the operation, but it was the most pain I have ever been in, it was hideous."

The screws holding my new ACL to my knee. I can feel the big screw through my skin.

"After 2 months I was only just able to walk again, but I had a run in with a set of stairs and tore the stitches out of the meniscus repair site. Knee surgery number 2. I didn’t really want to ride again after all that, one bad fall and this is how you spend the next 12 months. But after a while I remembered snowboarding is too much fun to give up so I booked flights and rehabbed my knee as much as I could.

I fly out tomorrow to Japan with Stu to meet up with Lee Ponzio and Liam Kaska. I can’t wait to ride some pow and get used to my new knee. Then I am off to Colorado to hang with the TSC crew for the rest of the season."

Christmas With De Campo and TSC

Chris De Campo and Tom Pelley are still hanging out in Breckenridge with the TSC crew. They had a Christmas day full of food, gifts and bonfires.

De Campo also entered the Gatorade Free Flow event last week, and while taking it easy, as he is recovering from a couple of small injuries, he did manage to score a pow turn or two during his run.

Sending Kevin Positive Vibes

The Burton family is starting off the New Year with some unfortunate news. On New Year's Eve Kevin Pearce was seriously injured while riding at Park City, Utah. He was landing a cab double cork, caught his toe side edge and was knocked unconscious.

He is currently at the University of Utah Hospital in the intensive care unit, and remains in a stable but critical condition as he sustained a severe traumatic brain injury during his fall. Kevin is getting the best care possible, and we know he has it in him to get through this. Kevin has a long recovery ahead of him and his family has created a Facebook page where you can follow his progress here.

Everyone at Burton Australia is sending Kevin positive thoughts, and cannot wait to have him come visit again.

Tom's East Coast Left Overs

Rehab In Hawaii

Regular See My Method readers will know that Hannah is recovering from a busted ACL. So what better way to help speed up the recovery than a trip to Hawaii.

This is what just landed in our inbox......

I had a great time. We literally shopped till we dropped then spent the rest of our time floating on lilos in the beautiful blue waters or eating amazing fish tacos from the Cheesecake factory.

The surfing event was on hold while we were up at the North Shore but we did get to see some crazy people out at Waimea and Sunset. There was a few pros around but unfortunately I didn't get to see my favorite Kelly Slater.

Now I'm sitting at home looking at my photos wishing I was back there. Next time I'll definitely be going for more than two weeks.

As some of us get ready for summer the team are getting ready to get their snowboard game on in the northern hemisphere. With some resorts reporting a record start to the season it looks like the crew are in for an epic time, here is a breakdown of who is heading where.

Jye Kearney is going to be based in Tahoe and Mammoth this season to have the best of both powder and park.

Tom Pelley is going to be coaching at the TSC camp in Breckenridge before heading over to his home of last season Tahoe.

Mitch Allan is unpacking his bag in Mammoth again.

Chris de Campo is starting in Breckenridge with the TSC crew before joining Jye and Tom in Tahoe.

Nick Gregory is the mystery man one minute you will see him surfing Manly next you will see him riding the chairlift. Where Nick goes even he doesn't know...

Courtney Phillipson has just joined the team rocking Burton hardgoods she is hitting up Japan for a couple of weeks of powder before heading to the United States.

Hannah Trigger as you all know suffered a knee injury this Australian season therefore her summer is all about rehab.

So that you can feel that little bit of jealousy when you know someone is snowboarding and you are not the guys will be keeping See My Method up to date with their adventures.

Hannah Injury Update

Hey Everyone,

Just thought I'd give you an update on my knee injury. I saw the surgeon yesterday, I'm almost 3 months post op now.

It's coming along well except I still have a little swelling because I've been on it too much. It's hard to do nothing for so long I just wanna get up and walk around. But otherwise it is stable and my range of movement is good.

I've been going for bike rides every morning and doing a few simple exercises to build some muscle in my very skinny quad and he's told me to keep doing that before I see him in another 6 weeks, then I will start doing more in the gym.

Mitch's Surf Trip With Occy And Dylan

Hey sorry been off the grid for a while but I just got back from a really amazing trip. I got invited to travel from Bells Beach to the south coast with Occy and Dylan Longbottom for a Fuel TV trip. It was so amazing we got some fun waves, drove a lot and partied for the Melbourne Cup along the way. Keep watching Fuel over summer for the show called "From where you'd rather be with Occy".

Trigger BBQ 2009

Trigger Brothers had their annual end of season BBQ up at the summit of Mt Buller on Sunday. Each season the amount of snow to ride varies however the good times don't with everyone leaving the BBQ full of food and happy with one last snowboard for the season.

Chris de Campo was there representing Burton along with Brand Manager Shane Carter who brings us these images of de Campo making the most of the snow and the bungee.

Camber Vs Rocker The Results

At the SIA trade show in Canberra we held an election to let the people have a say on camber snowboards versus rocker snowboards (reverse, 0 camber, combination rocker, etc) you can view many of the topics up for debate on the Burton site under the Take a Stance videos on Burton TV.

It was a close battle with both parties putting up strong arguments, however the industry heads at SIA have spoken and by the slimmest of margins camber has come away with the victory.

TSC Team Challenge Wrap Up

Last month just before the lifts stopped at Mt Buller the TSC crew held their annual Team Challenge. The Team Challenge is based on the idea of challenging snowboarders of all levels to get together and work in a team environment. Tom Pelley was one of the guest judges/coaches for the event which is a more laid back fun environment for riders to progress.

The B Movie Sydney Premiere

The "B" Movie had it's final stop of the Australian tour last night in Sydney to a full house at the Dendy cinema in Circular Quay. Once the credits finished rolling and all the free popcorn was consumed it was off to the Bridge Bar directly above the cinema for a few drinks. The B Movie In Melbourne

Kick Off Of The B Movie In Brisbane

The "B" Movie Australian tour kicked off on Saturday night in Brisbane with an intimate showing at The Fort in Fortitude Valley. The Fort is a cool little center that harbors a range of art studios, photography spaces and a recording studio. Being a flight away from the nearest hill doesn’t seem to matter with these guys and they polished off all the free Corona and Jager and then drank the rest of the bar dry. Some amazing dudes up in that there town. Nice work Brisbane.

The "B" Movie tour in Australia had an unofficial kick off at the SIA trade show in Canberra on Tuesday night. The screening of the movie was a last minute idea to give the attendees of the snow industry trade show an sneak peek at the movie before the tour officially kicks off this Saturday the 17th in Brisbane.

The Remarkables had their annual “Bangers and Stash” end of season event, it is basically a BBQ and jam format event at the hut in the Stash run.This year the weather was perfect with the beer and snags flowing from midday and not stopping until the lifts shut. On top of the normal Stash features the park staff had also created a whole bunch of custom features to add to the fun.

Jye Post Break Check In

Jye Kearney busted his collar bone on the Thredbo kicker that has been getting all the coverage of late. We hit Jye up to see what has been happening since that fateful day.

SMM: Hey Jye, Boadle just told me the news of the collarbone break. How did you bust it?

JYE:Front 9 stomped on icy landing then caught a toe edge and slammed!

SMM: Any crazy pictures of it busted ?

JYE: Na just X-rays and you can barely even see the break as it is just a hair line fracture. Lucky it was a nice clean break and with my young bones I will have a full 100% recovery.

SMM: What are your plans for the rest of the season?

JYE: Well it happened at a good time really, haven't missed out on anything, what a crap spring hey! Caramel swirl up there at the moment and now with some pixie dust to add on top.

SMM: Good luck with the recovery time.

JYE: Yeah cheers, I'm doing all the good things as well as keeping mentally focused too.

"I wasn't really expecting much from a mexican cafe in a food court, but I was quick to find out that this place was legit. Ralph Rottura took me to the Southland mall for my lunch break while I was on work experience at the Burton Melbourne office. The Burrito I had was delicious and so were the mexican "crinkle style" fries that came with it. To cap it all off the meal was ready in about one minute, which gave us time to sit back and eat while we checked out all the hot chicks shopping in the mall. All up it was a good break from the relentless and uninterrupted hard work I had been doing since the early hours of the morning at the Burton office."

TSC Team Challenge

The TSC crew are holding their annual Team Challenge at Mt Buller next week starting on Monday the 19th of September.

Tom Pelley and the rest of the TSC comp team will be riding with the teams over the 5 days of spring snowboard madness. The TSC team challenge is about challenging snowboarders of all levels to get together and work in a team environment to achieve the best overall result in a laid back competition including big air, rails, skate, dress up day, best photo.

The catch is that all teams are chosen by the TSC coaching team and are required to have varying abilities so that the riders need to work together with all team members on all of the games to get the best results.
With loads of prizes from Burton every-one is sure to walk away with more than something and overall Team Challenge glory.

Chris de Campo Update

Chris de Campo has collected a nice collection of competition bibs during this season with his name appearing on the entry list of all the major events this season including the NZ Open, MTV Snow Jam, Cattleman's and Stylewars where he managed to score a couple of tricks on the 80 foot monster. He also took out the Baw Baw big air and took third in the Battle of Baw Baw rail event.

This week de Campo is competing in the One Hit Wonder event at Thredbo where the results are determined by an online voting system. The de Campo voting campaign will kick off as soon as the poll goes live, so stay tuned.

Mikkel Bang Best Trick At Stylewars

Stylewars managed to catch a break in the weather for the last day, after being locked down for most of the event. Burton Australia good buddy and frequent visitor Mikkel Bang took out the best trick with a switch back 12. There is a little bit of a back story to this as Mikkel is recovering from a broken foot that he suffered earlier in the year at a Mountain Dew event in the USA. He came over to Australia from New Zealand where he is getting some extra on snow time to help with his rehab, he wasn't even planning on competing and at 4am on the last day of the event he was still up having a good time. Check the Stylewars video above for Mikkel's run as well as the other international visitors Charles Reid and Marko Grilc.

If Mikkel is still in rehab mode we wonder what he has up his sleeve when he is 100%.
